Speechless…

160w_cb24.jpg

WordPress has a feature in which you can see the stats of your blog and the different search terms that people use on search engines to find your blog. The #1 post on my blog is this one. I don’t have time to go through all the different keywords people have used in finding this post my blog, but here are some, “Is my marriage doomed?”, “I give up on marriage”, “What do you do when you want to leave your marriage?”, “Should I forgive my husband?”.

It makes me want to cry, honestly. Marriage is so tough. There are so many things vying for our time. There are so many circumstances and habits and dependencies that cause serious friction in our relationships. It is hard, but that doesn’t mean that it is not worth sticking around for.

A good marriage takes time. A perfect marriage doesn’t exist. Don’t try for a perfect one. Try for a better one. It takes baby steps.

(*I am not referring to relationships in which you or your children are being abused.)

~Get help~

The abuser will not change unless there is an intervention.  In cases of severe abuse in which you and/or your children are in danger, leave (with your children) as soon as possible. Don’t think that just because he/she abused once, that he/she won’t abuse anyone else…and don’t confront the abuser yourself. This can put you in greater danger.

Cleaning up?

arm558spring-cleaning-posters.jpg

Fact: Most people would not hire an elephant to clean their house. I am not exempt from this observation.

I love this picture! You can purchase it from allposters .

Can’t think of a title for this post….

summerstarwarsbattles.jpg<—summer night star wars battle. Don’t try this at home.

Just some random thoughts here… :)

My nine month old is walking. I can’t believe it. I think that I am in a time warp. My other boys all started walking later…so the other day, I put the nine month old up to the sink to wash his hands-standing on a stool, of course. I immediately realized that he is to short to reach the sink; even with a stool 12 inches high.

My mindhas him older then he is, because of all he can do. He is trying each day to keep up with all his older brothers. He is also a talker. He babbles on and on. Most of the time it sounds like he is yelling. Were did he learn to yell? Hmmm… :)

Our two year old is potty training. Every time Mr. two is on the potty, peanut (the 9 month old-if this is your first time reading my blog) comes crawling over at lightspeed to grab the item that my two year old’s body just rejected. Yeah, yuk. A whole lot of soap is being used up in this joint.

I have been de-cluttering. I went to a seminar on the 8th of this month. The seminar speakers discussed some different organizing methods. One method was from flylady. I hear so much about the flylady program. The ladies teaching the seminar brought the book that the founder of flylady wrote for anyone interested. I will be doing a book review later, to let you know what I thought about the practices and principles described in the Sink Reflections book. If it works, the proof will be in the pud…I mean pictures.

If you have read the flylady book I am referring to, leave a comment to let me know what you thought.

I’ve got to go!

Happy Saturday!

Crockpot Chicken Catchatorie

I made a delicious meal last night. Chicken Catchatorie in the crock-pot. This was my first time making it. It was simple :)

I’m sorry that I have no pictures to share. I thought about it, but not until the end of the night.

As usual, I improvised. I don’t know how people usually make the dish…so maybe it is Chicken Timbuktu. Who knows!

Regardless, here is the recipe:

*note: this recipe is doubled for us…if you have older children, you may need more chicken*

3 lbs chicken thighs (or breasts-but if using breast, cook less; there is less fat and therefore moisture in the breasts)

1 cup chopped onion

1 cup chopped green pepper

1 large can crushed tomato

Spices-as desired. I used salt, pepper, Italian spice blends and a little bit of chili powder and cumin.

Stir all ingredients. COOK on low 7-8 hrs in slow cooker. Again, if using breasts-cook less time. You really could pair this with anything. I made mashed potatoes this time. I might use rice or pasta or homemade bread next time.
