She is so calm

I will be going up to my moms for a while to take over her household. My kid brother, three foster children and my step-father will be the recipients of my ‘tender’ care

I would appreciate all your prayers during this time-traveling mercies and strength (for my youngest and myself) and for my mom; a speedy recovery (she is having surgery).

My hubby has all the older children and will be homeschooling-be praying for him, too!

I am up baking a lemon cheesecake for an Easter dessert, nursing a wiggly 10 (almost 11) month old and just getting to my stockpile of emails…that is why I’m up-if you really needed to know. :)I took my four year old out to the grocery store last night. I really enjoy the one on one time with my children. The strapping lad and I were pondering the seasons. The boys and I have been talking all week about how sometimes the weather can be unexpected and unpredictable; regardless of what the calendar says.

Things had suddenly become profound in my mind, as I began explaining to my four year old about the ’seasons’ of life. I could tell that he was drifting off into his own world as I spoke, but nonetheless, I continued. I told him that I was in ’summer’.

It struck me as just plain strange to say that out loud; even if I was only speaking to myself at the moment. I AM IN SUMMER. I then began to think, “Gee Jen, if you’re in the summer season of your life, why aren’t you enjoying it more? The sunshine…the warm breezes…that ‘wishing it would never end’ feeling.” It was a mystery to me for much of the night.

As I sit at the computer typing this, the mystery unravels; if only piece by piece.

To get a new hair cut or not get a new haircut…that is the question. Well, that’s not really the question. The real question is which one? Picture #1, 2, 3 or 4? What do you think?

Every once in a while, I come across a blog that does my heart good. Recently, ( a few months ago, I guess) I stumbled upon this one. I couldn’t explain it to you, but when I read this ladies writings, I just want to curl up with a cup of tea and visit for a while. She blesses my heart so much; though I don’t know her and her gang personally.
