She is so calm

I am going to answer some questions quickly…so I figured I’d post them. This will save everyone time!

Q: How do you discipline your kids?

A: Biblically. That is about all that you are going to get for an answer. 

Q: How long have you nursed your children? Isn’t nursing while pregnant unsafe?

A:  I’m a big advocate for breastfeeding. I won’t push others to do it, but scientific evidence is conclusive-it is the best for babies by far.  I eat enough to support my body during pregnancy and breastfeeding & make sure that what I’m eating is healthy. I’ve nursed all of them past 12 months, with the exception of my first-I nursed him until about 11 months. If you do the math you would find that pregnancy and breastfeeding have overlapped everytime. Is it safe? We haven’t had any problems.

Q: Do you homeschool during the summer?

A: A little, but in a very relaxed way; not daily. If  my children find something that interests them, we will study it. That is one of the cool things about homeschooling.

I just finished watching the BBC rendition (2004) of North and South. What a beautiful film. I am not a fan of flighty romance films that are unrealistic. There was a jolt of realism and a fair share of hardship-a whole lot like real life. It was a clean film; how refreshing that was compared to everything else out there.

As my boys are growing, food is becoming scarce. People always said, “You wait til’ they’re teens. They will eat you out of house and home.”

I think that it is safe to say they were partially right. I had all brothers, so I’ve seen the damage that can ensue in the teen years…but no one told me that it would start before then :) 

We now have a rule in my house. If you clear your plate and there are no leftovers, you can have a pb&j sandwich.

I refuse to be a short order cook. I’m keeping my future daughter-in-laws in mind; if they are the chefs in the family.

I will be going up to my moms for a while to take over her household. My kid brother, three foster children and my step-father will be the recipients of my ‘tender’ care

I would appreciate all your prayers during this time-traveling mercies and strength (for my youngest and myself) and for my mom; a speedy recovery (she is having surgery).

My hubby has all the older children and will be homeschooling-be praying for him, too!
