I am going to answer some questions quickly…so I figured I’d post them. This will save everyone time!
Q: How do you discipline your kids?
A: Biblically.
That is about all that you are going to get for an answer.
Q: How long have you nursed your children? Isn’t nursing while pregnant unsafe?
A: I’m a big advocate for breastfeeding. I won’t push others to do it, but scientific evidence is conclusive-it is the best for babies by far. I eat enough to support my body during pregnancy and breastfeeding & make sure that what I’m eating is healthy. I’ve nursed all of them past 12 months, with the exception of my first-I nursed him until about 11 months. If you do the math you would find that pregnancy and breastfeeding have overlapped everytime. Is it safe? We haven’t had any problems.
Q: Do you homeschool during the summer?
A: A little, but in a very relaxed way; not daily. If my children find something that interests them, we will study it. That is one of the cool things about homeschooling.

It is beautiful out today. I wish I could upload some pictures, but for some reason that option (when I post) hasn’t been working for a few weeks.
I have some links that I have used to help me set up a homeschool schedule and provide some unit study ideas. I don’t know if any of you can use these ideas…but here they are:
click here, here, here and here
I do not apply all of the information on these sites to my specific family situation, but some of the scenarios have proven helpful.

I don’t know what the weather is like where you are, but spring has certainly arrived here.
One of my least favorite things about spring is allergies. One of my most favorite things about spring is the extra energy that I suddenly experience and the flowers and leaves popping up everywhere.
My children are watching ‘Word World’-a great ‘learning’ style show for younger school aged children. It even entertains the little not quite school aged gentlemen in our family.
We are going to be updating our homeschooling supplies come fall, so I am starting to shave money off of the grocery and household expenses now. Saving $25.00 per/week now until mid September gives me @ $500.00…and that’s the way we roll around here.
I’ve got to go. Today we are revisiting our lesson on manners. Don’t you wish you could be a fly on my wall today?
You can buy the above print at allposters.

What do you do with a two year old that insists on the phrases ‘me do it!’ (translation: I can do it all by myself), ‘mate a’min!’ (wait a minute) and ‘I non’t want!’ (I don’t like what you are doing here and I’m not planning on succumbing to your ignorance)? You make ’snack necklaces’. Get ahold of cereal that has holes in it….Cheeri*s, Kashi Heart to Heart…etc. Put some string through it to make necklaces or bracelets and presto! A new item for them to hang themselves on. Just kidding. I first thought that, but we tried it. You have to watch your kids carefully of course; but I bet they’ll like it.*For the string we tried yarn, but it frayed. We ended up using my husbands netting string (the white string that is used to make hockey nets). Shhhh. Please don’t tell him.
